One of the most disturbing elements of the current US democracy is how fear became a political tool in politics. Misinformation and disinformation on social media and pushed through dark money tactics has led many Americans to question the very foundation of facts. The false equivalency pushed by some members of Congress that the deadly Insurrection was just a ‘normal tourist visit’ is a perfect example of this. Unless we address this polarization head on, democracy as we know it will be gone.
